As northern Arizona's largest city and regional
trade center Flagstaff is the true Rocky Mountain
experience.
Because of the
excellent quality of life, low crime rate and
clear mountain air, many families from the
Phoenix area escape to this 7000 ft elevation
city for relief from the summer heat of the
desert floor.
With the "Peaks", as they are called,
rising to 12,670 feet just North of town to the
high mountain meadows and valleys, this is truly
an adventure.
Summer temperatures
average 45-82 degrees, which can be 30 degrees
cooler than the Phoenix area. Winter can only be
described as a "festival". Cool, clear,
crisp winter nights often reach 15 degrees, with
the sun warming up daytime highs
to the mid 40's. Frequent snow flurries occur
from November to March to cover the
"Peaks" and give visitors and residents
alike the opportunity to ski in the morning then
drive back to Phoenix to lay around the pool and
swim in the afternoons!
Flagstaff is the
governmental and entrepreneurial hub of Northern
Arizona with dozens of opportunities.
Because of the great climate and access to a
large commercial hub, Phoenix, it has become a
second home destination to many Arizona business
owners.
Northern Arizona
University (NAU) has its main campus in
Flagstaff. Many local curriculums are provided in
Prescott, Sedona, Cottonwood, and the Verde
Valley for part time students and residents
looking for classes in individual self-help
areas.
Flagstaff is also the gateway to the Grand Canyon
and the many recreational opportunities of the
National Parks/Forests.
Residential
opportunities abound - Being in a city of about
60,000, many different choices are available.
